IU East's Wigfield repeats as RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU East libero Samantha Wigfield for the second week in a row has been named the River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week. The latest award is for Sept. 10-16.

Wigfield, a sophomore native of Fort Wayne, Ind., totaled 30 digs in two matches as the Red Wolves opened RSC play with 3-0 victories at Point Park and Carlow this past Friday and Saturday. She had 13 digs and an ace at Point Park and followed that up with 17 digs at Carlow.

In the two matches, she served at a percentage of .947, and she had a reception percentage of .938 with just two errors.

IU East is 11-4 overall, 2-0 RSC and hosts Earlham for a non-conference match on Tuesday night.
