MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- WVU Tech junior Katelyn Byrd hit .444 in three matches to pick up River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Sept. 17-23.

Byrd, from Parkersburg, W.Va., totaled 38 kills and averaged 3.45 kills per set in three matches as WVU Tech went 2-1 RSC. She had just six hitting errors on the week for the big percentage. She also totaled eight blocks and six digs for the week.

Byrd had a high of 17 kills and three blocks in a five-set loss to IU Kokomo. She also hit double figures with 14 kills and just one error in a sweep of Cincinnati Christian. Byrd collected a week-high four blocks to go with seven kills versus Rio Grande, a 3-0 win.
WVU Tech (16-4, 2-1 RSC) hosts Salem International and Washington Adventist for a tri-match on Sept. 25.
