CCU's Walsman named RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Cincinnati Christian University forward Blake Walsman put up 18.5 points and 16.0 rebounds per game on his way to River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week from Jan. 14-20.

A 6-8 product of Batesville, Ind., Walsman totaled 37 points and 32 rebounds across two games and also shot 62 percent from the field (11 for 18) and 88 percent from the free-throw line (15 for 17). Walsman also averaged 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists per game.

Walsman collected 14 points and 20 rebounds in a victory over Ohio Christian. He also had 23 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to No. 17 IU East. During the week, he became the first player in CCU's NAIA history to surpass 2,000 career points.

CCU (9-12, 4-6 RSC) welcomes No. 12 WVU Tech on Thursday.
