NAIA DII Men's Basketball Top 25 Poll mentions four teams from RSC
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In this week's NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the River States Conference has four teams mentioned. The poll released Tuesday (Jan. 22) by the national office has No. 9 WVU Tech, No. 15 IU East, (RV) Brescia (Ky.) University and (RV) IU Southeast from the RSC.
WVU Tech is 18-3 overall, 9-1 RSC and has moved up three spots from last time to venture into the Top 10. The Golden Bears are No. 2 in the country in scoring offense per game (96.1 ppg), fifth nationally in rebounds (43.7 rpg) and eighth in the country in assissts (17.1 apg).
IU East has won eight in a row to increase its record to 17-6 overall and 9-1 RSC. That pushed the Red Wolves up two spots from the last rankings. IU East is second in the country in blocks per game (4.6 bpg).
Brescia and IU Southeast are leading the RSC West Division, and both teams are just outside the Top 25. Brescia has been "receiving votes" the last two times but has moved up to No. 28 overall in the country. The Bearcats are 11-8 overall, 8-2 RSC for first place in the division.
IU Southeast is right behind Brescia at No. 29 overall and "receiving votes" as well after being Top 25 in each poll so far in the year. The Grenadiers are 15-7 overall, 8-3 RSC after four straight victories and are in second place in the RSC East.
