Spivey scores RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for IU Kokomo

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Kokomo point guard Trequan Spivey averaged 27.0 points per game in three conference victories to warrant River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 21-27.

The 6-1 sophomore from Indianapolis, Ind., put up 81 points on the week as the Cougars went 3-0, all of which was in RSC action. He shot 62 percent from the field (26 for 42), 55 percent from the long range (6 for 11) and 82 percent from the foul line (23 for 28). Spivey also added eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals on the week.

There were three high-scoring games including 28 points on 8 for 11 overall and 4 for 4 from long range in a win over Brescia. Then 27 points on 10-for-17 shooting in a victory over Rio Grande. Finally, he had 26 points and five rebounds in a win over No. 9 WVU Tech.

IU Kokomo is 18-4 overall, 8-3 RSC and will be at Midway (Ky.) on Tuesday.
