Sandefur picked for RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week from Asbury (Ky.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Asbury (Ky.) University senior Jesse Sandefur averaged 7.33 digs per set to earn River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week Oct. 7-13.
Sandefur, a defensive specialist from Lexington, Ky., totaled 66 digs in three matches, all RSC wins for the Eagles. She also added 10 assists and just one reception error in 42 passes on the week. Sandefur posted a serve percentage of .915.
She had 28 digs in a sweep of Rio Grande (Ohio), 24 digs in a 3-0 win over WVU Tech and 14 digs and five assists a victory over Midway (Ky.), 3-0. That improved the Eagles to 7-9 overall, 4-3 RSC. They will host Ohio Christian Friday night at 7 p.m.
