Campbell chosen as RSC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week from Point Park (Pa.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University sophomore Alyssa Campbell won the Carnegie Mellon Invitational and was selected as River States Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week Oct. 7-13. It is her second weekly win of the year.
The New Brighton, Pa., native ran a time of 18 minutes, 36 seconds at the course that will also be the site of the RSC Championships Nov. 9. That won by 26 seconds over second place in the 5,000-meter course. Campbell led the Pioneers to fourth place as a team, and she had a pace of 5:59 per mile.
Point Park's next race is Oct. 26 at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas (Mich.) College.
