Stephens named RSC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week from Point Park (Pa.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University senior Xavier Stephens claimed River States Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 21-27, his third weekly honor of the season.
Stephens, from Uniontown, Pa., ran the 8,000-meter race at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in 26 minutes, 10 seconds. That placed 48th of 311 runners in the maroon race and was the top time of the day of RSC runners there.
The Point Park team placed 24th of 26 teams in the stacked field versus NAIA Top 25 teams. Next up for Point Park is the RSC Championship Nov. 9 in Pittsburgh.
