Scruggs named RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week from (RV) WVU Tech
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- WVU Tech junior Tamon Scruggs is the first selection of the season for the River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. He claimed the opening award for Nov. 4-10.
A 6-4 native of South Charleston, W.Va., Scruggs averaged 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in two games. He shot 57 percent from the field, was 4 for 10 from long range and perfect 2 for 2 from the foul line.
Scruggs had 16 points, 10 rebounds and a couple of treys in an RSC victory at Carlow. A 93-88 loss to NCAA DII Chowan was in spite of 16 points, eight rebounds and 7-for-11 shooting from Scruggs.
WVU Tech is 2-2 overall and will be at the St. Francis (Ind.) Classic this weekend for two games.
