Sokeland selected for RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week from IU Kokomo
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Kokomo middle hitter Lizzie Sokeland hit .429 in two matches last week to earn River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Nov. 4-10.
The 6-1 sophomore from Bloomington, Ind., had 28 kills and just seven errors in 49 attempts last week to power the Cougars to a 2-0 showing. Sokeland averaged 4.67 kills per set in six total sets. She also compiled six total blocks.
A big match of 16 kills and five block solos came in a 3-1 win over WVU Tech. Next came 12 kills and just two errors in a 3-0 win over Rio Grande. The weekend solidfied second place in the RSC West for IU Kokomo, which will play IU East in the RSC Volleyball Championship Quarterfinals on Friday in Pittsburgh.
