Carvajal nets RSC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week from IU East

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU East's Priscilla Carvajal scored some big goals on the week to garner River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week from Oct. 28-Nov. 4.

A junior from Munster, Ind., Carvajal netted two goals to power the Red Wolves to a 5-0 win over Rio Grande (Ohio) to start the week. She scored the opening goal and also put in another one for a 3-0 lead to send IU East on its way. The game was played in 20-mph winds and snow.

There was no scoring for either team in the Red Wolves' 0-0 (2OT) tie versus WVU TEch, but they still finished the regular season 11-3-3 overall, 6-1-3 RSC to clinch one of the top two seeds in the RSC Women's Soccer Championship. IU East receives a bye into the semifinals Nov. 13.
