RSC Cross Country Championship Central: Nov. 9 at Carlow University (Pittsburgh, Pa.)

PITTSBURGH -- The 2019 River States Conference Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships are taking place on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pa. RSC member Carlow (Pa.) University is the host institution for the championship.

The men's 8,000-meter race is at 10:30 a.m., and the women's 5,000-meter race is at 11:30 a.m. The location of the championships is the Schenley Park Oval SportsPlex located at 1 Overlook Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Click the link for the GPS location. The start and finish lines are at the oval.

The RSC Championships serve as national-qualifying events for the NAIA Men's & Women's Cross Country National Championships Nov. 22 in Vancouver, Wash. The RSC men's and women's team champions earn automatic qualification to NAIAs. Team runner-up finishers receive a national bid if they are ranked in the Top 30 of the final national rankings.

For individuals, NAIA national invites are awarded to the top four individual finishers in each race who are not from qualifying team(s). Those individuals must finish within the top 15 of the men's and women's races to qualify.

An awards ceremony will be held after the conclusion of the races. All-RSC First Team honors will be awarded to the top seven finishers in each race, and All-RSC Second Team honors will be for finishers eight through 14. The RSC Runner of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Coach of the Year will be awarded for each gender as well.
