Spivey picks up RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for No. 13 IU Kokomo
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Trequan Spivey averaged 27.5 points in two games to pick up River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for No. 13-ranked IU Kokomo. The award was for the week of Dec. 9-15.
A 6-1 guard from Indianapolis, Ind., Spivey put up a combined 55 points in two victories for the Cougars. He shot 73 percent from the field (16 for 22), 89 percent from 3-point range (8 for 9) and a perfect 15 for 15 for 100 percent on free throws. The junior also added 2.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
Spivey collected 25 points on 8 for 12 shooting and 3 for 4 from long range in a win at Lincoln Christian (Ill.). He followed that up with 30 points, five assists and 8 for 10 shooting in a 103-95 win over RSC opponent Alice Lloyd (Ky.). That game featured 5 for 5 on treys.
IU Kokomo is 11-2 overall, 3-0 RSC. The Cougars play host to Indiana Northwest on Dec. 20 for their next game.
