Chambers named RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Rio Grande (Ohio)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande (Ohio) guard Chyna Chambers had a career high in scoring to claim River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 9-15.
The 5-4 junior from Columbus, Ohio, poured in a career-high 22 points in the RedStorm's 90-80 victory over Carlow. Rio Grande's only game of the week had the team score 54 points in the second half of the RSC win.
Chambers grabbed five rebounds, made three assists and had one steal in the victory. She was 8 for 13 from the field and a perfect 3 for 3 from long range. Chambers hit a trey to cap off a key run of 13-0 in the second half to take control.
Rio Grande is 7-6 overall, 2-0 RSC and visits Point Park (Pa.) on Dec. 17 for its next game.
