CCU's Walsman nets RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Cincinnati Christian University senior Blake Walsman averaged 24.5 points and 17.5 rebounds per game from Feb. 11-18 to win River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
A 6-8 forward from Batesville, Ind., Walsman scored 49 points and collected 35 rebounds in two RSC wins for the Eagles. He also averaged 4.5 assists per game, shot 74 percent from the field (17 for 23) and 93 percent from the foul line (14 for 15).
Walsman started out with 21 points, 17 rebounds and three assists in a 98-94 win over Brescia. He then put up 28 points, 18 rebounds and six assists in a victory over IU Southeast, 111-108. The big week pulled CCU's record even at 15-15 overall, 9-9 RSC to conclude the season.
