Point Park's Tarr named RSC Softball Pitcher of the Week Feb. 18-24
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University junior Katie Tarr is the River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance from Feb. 18-24.
A right-hander from Burggestown, Pa., Tarr compiled a 2.27 ERA in two outings last week as the Pioneers began their season. She racked up 16 strikeouts in 12.1 innings with four earned runs during that time.
It was a tough loss in extra innings versus Ave Maria (Fla.), but Tarr went all 7.1 innings with eight strikeouts. Versus No. 22 Southeaster (Fla.), Tarr went 5.0 innings with eight strikeouts, two walks and three earned runs.
Point Park continues its play in Florida with four more games until Feb. 28.
