NAIA DII MBB Top 25 Poll includes four teams from River States Conference
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- River States Conference men's basketball once again has four teams included in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The RSC has No. 9 WVU Tech, No. 13 IU East, No. 24 IU Kokomo and "receiving votes" IU Southeast in the rankings released on Tuesday (Feb. 5) by the national office.
No. 9 WVU Tech (22-4, 13-2 RSC) continued to up its record and has won three in a row to remain in the Top 10 for a second poll in a row. That includes a Top 25 conference win over IU East last Saturday, 94-79, to take the season series and help inch them into sole possession of first place in the RSC East Division as of mid-week.
No. 13 IU East (20-7, 12-2 RSC) moved up two spots in this week's poll, the second poll in the row the Red Wolves have bumped up a couple of placements. IU East had won 11 in a row before dropping the game to WVU Tech but is till within reach of the divisional title.
No. 24 IU Kokomo (21-5, 11-4 RSC) put together a seven-game win streak up through last week to get above 20 wins and break into the Top 25. The Cougars picked up a win over No. 9 WVU Tech and then-RV Brescia (Ky.) since the last poll.
IU Southeast (17-8, 10-4 RSC) is once again "receiving votes" to make it four RSC teams getting national attention. The Grenadiers have won six of their last seven games to get up to second place in the RSC West, a half game back of IU Kokomo for first.
