Carlow's Stroud named RSC Softball Pitcher of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Carlow (Pa.) University junior Abby Stroud posted a 1.11 earned-run average across four outings last week to earn River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 4-10.

Stroud, from New Egypt, N.J., worked 19.0 innings on the week while compiling a 1-0 record with one save. She gave up 13 hits, five runs and three earned runs. Stroud collected 13 strikeouts and two walks.

Carlow went 3-1 on the week. Stroud pitched all 7.0 innings in a 5-3 win over Grace (Ind.). She picked up the save in 3.00 innings during a 5-2 win over Cleary. Stroud had no-decisions with 4.0 innings in a win over Trinity Christian (Ill.) and in 5.0 innings in a 5-3 loss to Lawrence Tech (Mich.).

Carlow is 4-6 overall and visits IU Southeast and Brescia (Ky.) this weekend for the start of RSC action.
