IU Southeast has Winchell named RSC Women's Tennis Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Southeast sophomore Lauren Winchell has been named River States Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performance from March 18-24.
A native of Floyds Knobs, Ind., Winchell went a combined 6-0 in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles last week. The Grenadiers were 3-0 as a team, including a 7-2 win over Brescia (Ky.) University in conference play.
Her singles action had a 6-0, 6-0 win versus Oakland City and Kentucky Wesleyan and a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 victory against Brescia. Doubles play saw Winchell post scores of 8-1 over Oakland City and Kentucky Wesleyan and 8-4 versus Brescia.
IU Southeast is 5-7, 2-0 RSC and will play IU Kokomo on April 3.
