Asbury's Campbell selected RSC Baseball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Asbury (Ky.) University shortstop Trevor Campbell batted .579 last week and was selected as the River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week for March 25-31.
A freshman from Louisville, Ky., Campbell was 11 for 19 in four games on the week. That was during a series win over WVU Tech and a matchup with Alice Lloyd. He compiled seven runs, a homer and four RBIs on the week and was 2 for 2 in stolen bases.
A big game was 4 for 5 with four runs, a home run and three RBIs and a steal in the series opener versus WVU Tech. He later was 3 for 5 in the finale to lift the Eagles to the series victory. The matchup with Alice Lloyd included a 3-for-5 performance.
Asbury is 12-14 overall, 5-8 RSC and will be hosting Kentucky Christian on Tuesday night.
