Iagnemma fires no-hitter for RSC Softball Pitcher of the Week for Point Park
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University senior Ashley Iagnemma tossed a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts to claim River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for April 15-21.
The right-hander from Bridgeville, Pa., did not allow a hit in her shutout of Carlow last Thursday, 4-0. In 7.0 innings, she walked just two alongside her 11 strikeouts. Iagnemma guarded a 1-0 lead until Point Park scored three times in the top of the seventh.
The win clinched a playoff berth for the Pioneers, who are now 11-5 RSC. Point Park (18-15) will host PSU-New Kensington for its next games April 25 before the regular-season finales April 28 at home versus WVU Tech.
