MASON, Ohio -- The 2019 River States Conference Men's & Women's Tennis Championships are set for this weekend, Friday-Saturday, April 26-27. Matches on Friday, April 26 will be held at the Queen City Racquet Club, an indoor facility, due to weather. Stay tuned for updates on Saturday's matches. The original venue is the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
Six men's teams and six women's teams will compete for their respective RSC titles with the winners earning automatic qualification to the NAIA Men's & Women's Tennis National Championships May 14-18 in Mobile, Ala. Click the links above for the championship brackets.
Play gets underway Friday, April 26 at 8 a.m. with the two women's quarterfinal matches. No. 3 seed IU East will play No. 6 Brescia (Ky.) University, and No. 4 IU Kokomo meets No. 5 Midway (Ky.) University. No. 1 seed Asbury (Ky.) University awaits the IU Kokomo-Midway winner, and No. 2 seed IU Southeast awaits the IU East-Brescia winner, for the semfinal round on Friday at 12 p.m.
The men's action gets started on Friday at 10 a.m. with the two quarterfinal matches. No. 3 IU East plays No. 6 Ohio Christian University, and No. 4 Midway (Ky.) University takes on No. 5 Brescia (Ky.) University. No. 1 seed Asbury and No. 2 seed IU Southeast await the winners of those matches, respectively, in the semfinals Friday at 2 p.m.
The championship finals are scheduled for Saturday with the women's final at 9 a.m., and the men's final at 12 p.m.
The weekend begins with the RSC tennis awards ceremony at the Queen City Racquet Club located at 11275 Chester Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246. Start time is 7 p.m.
