Rio Grande surges to RSC Women's Outdoor Track & Field title

EATON, Ohio (FINAL RESULTS) – A 1-2-3-4 sweep of the discus in the final event of the day boosted the University of Rio Grande to the women's team title at River States Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which wrapped up April 26 at Eaton High School.

River States Conference Field Athlete of the Year Sierra Cress led a RedStorm sweep of the top four places as Rio Grande made up a 22.5-point deficit in the final event to edge runner-up Point Park for the team title.

Women's 3000 Steeplechase
– Lucy Williams of Rio Grande set a new RSC record with an 11:32.22, which beat her previous record of 12:09.71 back in 2017.
Women's 4x100 Relay – Rio Grande – 49.84
Women's 1500 – Anna Shields of Point Park set a new RSC record with a 4:52.49 mark, which beat the previous mark of 4:57.33 back in 2015.
Women's 100 hurdles – Daneen Hazelwood of Ohio Christian set a new RSC record with a 14.63 mark, which beat the previous mark of 14.85 in 2018.
Women's 400 – Rachel Sargent – Ohio Christian – 58.75
