IU Kokomo's Rudy nabs RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Kokomo libero Macee Rudy surpassed a big milestone of 1,000 career digs and was named River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week for Aug. 19-25.
A 5-6 junior from Middletown, Ind., Rudy tallied 58 total digs in three matches and 10 sets on the week. She had a week-high of 24 digs and an ace in a 3-1 win over Northwestern Ohio. She also had 17 digs apiece in a pair of three-set matches versus Indiana Wesleyan and Grace (Ind.).
Rudy posted an average of 5.80 digs per set. Her serve percentage and reception percentage were .974 for the three matches.
IU Kokomo is off to a 4-1 start to the season and visits No. 24 Marian (Ind.) for its next match on Aug. 24.
