Brescia (Ky.) chosen as favorite in RSC Men's Golf Coaches' Preseason Poll
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Brescia (Ky.) University has been chosen as the top team in the River States Conference Men's Golf Coaches' Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2019-20 season. The Bearcats have won the last two RSC Championships and are predicted to make it three in a row this year.
Brescia garnered seven out of a possible nine first-place votes in the polling of the league's head coaches. The Bearcats received 87 votes in all.
Asbury (Ky.) University was the runner-up last year and was picked second in the poll. The Eagles received one first-place vote and 79 total votes. Midway (Ky.) University was chosen third with 75 votes and one first place vote followed by IU Kokomo in fourth with 72 votes. IU East received the final first-place vote and came in fifth with 60 votes.
The top six places remained unchanged from the end of last year with Point Park (Pa.) University taking up the sixth position with 44 votes. University of Rio Grande (Ohio) and WVU Tech each moved up a spot in the preseason prediction, and both received 36 votes in a tie for seventh. Cincinnati Christian University (34), Ohio Christian University (17) and Carlow (Pa.) University (14) closed out the poll of 11 teams.
The RSC Men's Golf Fall Preview Tournament will be held Oct. 7-8 at Belterra Golf Course in Florence, Ind. The event will preview the RSC Men's Golf Championships set for April 27-28, 2019 at the same course.
