Midway (Ky.) picked as favorite in RSC Women's Golf Coaches' Preseason Poll for 2019-20
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Midway (Ky.) University is once again the predicted favorite in the River States Conference Women's Golf Coaches' Preseason Poll for 2019-20. The Eagles have won four straight conference titles, and they are the pick to make it five in a row this year.
Midway received seven out of a possible nine first-place votes in the polling of the league's head coaches. The Eagles received 71 votes in all. Midway is currently "receiving votes" in the NAIA Women's Golf Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll.
IU East was picked second in the poll with 65 total votes and one first place. That was one spot ahead of Asbury (Ky.) University, which was picked third with 59 votes and received the final first-place vote. The top four remained the same as the end of last year with IU Kokomo predicted fourth with 51 votes.
Brescia (Ky.) University got 39 votes for fifth place followed by Point Park (Pa.) University (36) in sixth and Cincinnati Christian University (32) in seventh. Rounding out the 10 teams were University of Rio Grande (25), Carlow (Pa.) University (19) and Ohio Christian University (14).
The RSC Women's Golf Fall Preview Tournament will be held Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at Belterra Golf Course in Florence, Ind. That will preview the RSC Women's Golf Championship set for April 20-21, 2019 at the same course.
