Campbell claims RSC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for (RV) Point Park
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University sophomore Alyssa Campbell had a high finish in the season opener to claim River States Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 2-8.
The New Brighton, Pa., native placed third of 200 runners at the Bethany (W.Va.) Invitatonal. She did so by finishing the 6,000-meter race in 23 minutes, 2 seconds. She led Point Park to fourth place out of 18 teams.
Point Park, which is "receiving votes" in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, returns to action Sept. 21 at Lock Haven.
