Byrd named RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week for WVU Tech

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- WVU Tech outside hitter Katelyn Byrd hit .338 in four matches to claim River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Sept. 9-15.

Byrd, a 5-9 senior from Parkersburg, W.Va., tallied 57 kills in four matches as part of a 4-0 weekend at the Concord (W.Va.) Classic. Byrd also totaled 36 digs and four blocks and posted averages of 3.80 kills and 2.40 digs per set.

A huge match of 22 kills and 13 digs came in a five-set win over Concord. She also had 16 kills, nine digs and two blocks in a win over Ohio Valley. The week also included nine kills and 11 digs versus West Virginia State and 10 kills versus Glenville State.

WVU Tech (11-5) returns to action Sept. 27 at Point Park.
