Hawgood earns RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week for WVU Tech
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- WVU Tech libero Sawyer Hawgood had a big week in the back row to earn River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week for Sept. 9-15.
Hawgood, from Kamloops, British Columbia, amassed 86 digs in four victories this past weekend at the Concord (W.Va.) Classic. She averaged 6.14 digs per set and also added 11 total assists and three aces on the week.
Hawgood posted three matches with 20 or more digs with 27 versus Ohio Valley, 23 versus Concord and 21 versus West Virginia State. She tallied 15 digs and five assists versus Glenville State.
WVU Tech (11-5) visits Point Park for the next match on Sept. 27.
