Dearle named RSC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for #5 Rio Grande
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande (Ohio) goalkeeper Richard Dearle produced a shutout in a 4-0 win over (RV) Lawrence Tech (Mich.) to earn River States Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Aug. 26-Sept. 1.
A 6-3 senior from Castle Donington, England, made two saves in 90 minutes to keep the clean sheet. It was Dearle and a solid defense in front that kept the RedStorm undefeated with its third shutout in a row.
Rio Grande (4-0), ranked No. 5 in the NAIA Top 25, will be at (RV) Northwestern Ohio on Sept. 5.
