Rudy repeats as RSC Volleyball Defender of the Week for IU Kokomo

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- For the second time in as many weeks, IU Kokomo libero Macee Rudy has been named River States Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week. The latest honor comes for Aug. 26-Sept. 1.

The junior from Middletown, Ind., racked up 112 digs in five matches and 18 sets on the week. That led the Cougars to a 4-1 week, including a 4-0 showing at the Xavier/Trinity Christian Tournament. She averaged 6.22 digs per set, served a .984 and posted a reception rating of .949.

Rudy put up 34 digs and six assists in a 3-1 win over St. Francis (Ill.). There were also 33 digs in a 3-1 win over Trinity Christian (Ill.). Another big match included 28 digs in a five-set loss to Marian (Ind.) Rudy added seven digs in two sets played during a sweep of Mt. Mercy and 10 digs in a sweep of St. Xavier.

IU Kokomo (8-2) will be traveling to the Cornerstone (Mich.) / Aquinas (Mich.) Tournament Sept. 6-7 for four matches.
