Small tabbed RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Point Park (Pa.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University outside/right-side hitter Taylor Small led the offense in a 4-0 week and was tabbed River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Aug. 26-Sept. 1.
A 5-10 freshman from Amherst, Ohio, Small amassed 49 kills in four matches at the Emileigh Cooper Memorial Classic hosted by Rio Grande (Ohio). That came in 16 sets for an average of 3.06 kills per set, and she hit .322 for the week. Small also totaled 17 digs for 1.06 per set.
Small's play powered the Pioneers to a perfect weekend including 20 kills and eight digs in a 3-2 win over WVU Tech. She also had 17 kills in a 3-2 victory over Shawnee State. Small added eight kills and six digs in a sweep of Rio Grande and four kills in sweep of Bluefield (Va.).
Point Park (Pa.) picks up action again Sept. 10 at Washington & Jefferson.
