Napier claims RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week from (RV) Asbury (Ky.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Zaria Napier averaged 27.0 points per game for (RV) Asbury (Ky.) University to claim River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 6-12. It's her second weekly honor of the year.
The 5-9 forward from Stanford, Ky., put up 54 total points in two games while also averaging 6.5 points, 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She shot 48 percent from the field and 41 percent (7 for 17) from 3-point range.
Napier had a career-high 35 points and made six treys in an 89-78 win over Ohio Christian. That game featured 14 made field goals. She also had a big game of 19 points, six rebounds and four steals versus IU East, an 86-74 loss.
Asbury is 14-4 overall, 3-2 RSC and will be at Midway (Ky.) on Thursday.
