Point Park's Rinn garners RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University freshman Taylor Rinn averaged a double-double and shot 82 percent from the field to claim River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week from Jan. 13-19.
A 5-9 forward from Akron, Ohio, Rinn averaged 17.3 points, 12.0 rebounds and made 22 of 27 field goals in three games. She posted totals of 52 points and 36 rebounds as the Pioneers went 2-1.
The biggest game was 25 points and 16 rebounds in a home win over IU East. Rinn connected on 10 of 13from the field and also added two assists and two steals. The Pioneers lost at Ohio Christian despite 14 points and 14 rebounds on 6-for-8 shooting from Rinn.
In only eight minutes of play in a rout of Valley Forge (Pa.), Rinn went 6 for 6 from the floor for 13 points. Point Park is 12-8, 2-4 RSC and will be hosting Brescia and IU Southeast this weekend.
