Rio Grande's Holden is RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week again

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande (Ohio) senior Sydney Holden averaged a near triple-double of 20.7 points, 11.7 rebounds and 9.7 assists in three games to earn River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 20-26.

The 5-9 guard from Wheelersburg, Ohio, powered the RedStorm to a 3-0 week. She recorded two triple doubles and made a run at a third before the week was through. Holden's shooting numbers were 52 percent overall, 43 percent from long range and 89 percent from the foul line (25 for 28).

Holden got going with 16 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists in a win over Asbury (Ky.) Then came 23 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists versus Alice Lloyd (Ky.). Finally, Holden posted 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists over Midway (Ky.).

Rio Grande is 15-8, 8-2 RSC and will host IU Kokomo on Thursday.
