RSC Men's Tennis Coaches' Preseason Poll: Asbury (Ky.) predicted as 2020 favorite

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Asbury (Ky.) University is predicted as the 2020 favorite in the River States Conference Men's Tennis Coaches' Preseason Poll. The Eagles have won the last three conference championships, and they were picked as unanimous favorites this year. The voting was conducted by the six head coaches in the RSC.

Asbury, which is also "receiving votes" in the NAIA Men's Top 25 Preseason Poll at No. 27 overall, received all five of the possible first-place votes in the RSC polling and 25 votes overall. The Eagles have been to three straight NAIA Men's Tennis National Championships. This past fall, Asbury started off the year winning six of the nine flights in the RSC individual tournament.

IU Southeast was picked second in the poll with 20 votes and the remaining first-place vote. The Grenadiers have reached the conference finals every year since 2014 with two titles in that span. IU Southeast and Asbury have met in the finals each of the last six seasons.

IU East was picked third in the poll with 18 votes, and Midway was next in fourth with 13 votes. Both the Red Wolves and Eagles reached the conference semifinals in 2019. Brescia (Ky.) University and Ohio Christian University finsihed out the poll in fifth and sixth, which were their playoff seeds from last year as well.

The 2020 RSC Men's Tennis Championship will be held April 24-25 at the at Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Ky. The winners will advance with automatic qualification to the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship May 12-16 in Mobile, Ala.
