IU East's Shirley named RSC Volleyball Setter of the Week for third time
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University East freshman Reece Shirley grabbed another River States Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week award, this time for Oct. 12-18.
The 5-10 native of Michigan City, Ind., amassed 34 assists, six digs and five kills in the Red Wolves' only match of the week, a 3-0 sweep of IU Southeast. She averaged 11.33 assists per set to move up to sixth in the country in assists per set on the year. Shirley hit .375 in the match.
The victory kept IU East unbeaten at 9-0 overall, 8-0 RSC and first place in the RSC East Division. The Red Wolves visit Ohio Christian on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
