Rd 1 Recap: RSC Women's Golf Fall Preview -- Asbury (Ky.) leads by two over Midway (Ky.)

FLORENCE, Ind. -- After 18 holes Monday (Oct. 5) at the River States Conference Women's Golf Fall Preview, Asbury (Ky.) University leads by two shots over Midway (Ky.) University in the team standings. There are eight RSC schools competing this week in the preview to the RSC Women's Golf Championship at Belterra Golf Club.

The final round is Tuesday at 8 a.m. with Asbury in the lead after an opening-round 326. Midway is right behind after shooting 328 on Monday. Indiana University East is in third place and 10 shots off the lead after shooting 336.

Asbury's Faith Wiley grabbed the individual lead after 18 holes thanks to a 1-over par showing of 73. She played her last nine holes -- the front 9 -- in 1-under par to enjoy a 1-shot lead over Midway's Emilie Hill, who posted a tourney-high three birdies and shot 2-over 74.

Hannah McCrabb of Asbury is in third place with a 5-over 77, and Point Park (Pa.) University's Joey Walz is in fourth at 6-over 78 as the final player to shoot under 80 on the day.

Rounding out the team leaderboard were Brescia (Ky.) University in fourth at 342, Indiana University Kokomo in fifth at 357, Oakland City (Ind.) University in sixth at 364, University of Rio Grande (Ohio) in seventh at 371 and Point Park in eighth at 378.
