IU Kokomo's Spivey sets scoring record, earns RSC MBB Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Indiana University Kokomo senior Trequan Spivey set the school record for career scoring and in the process was named River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 14-20.
The 6-1 guard from Indianapolis, Ind., scored a combined 43 points in two wins and now has a school-record 1,529 points for his career. For the week, he averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 56 percent from the field, 42 percent from long range (5 for 12) and 80 percent from the foul line (8 for 10).
Spivey had 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in a win over RSC foe Oakland City (Ind.). He then had a season-high 26 points versus Health Sciences & Pharmacy (Mo.). The Cougars are now 4-1 on the year.
