Point Park's Stephens named RSC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University runner Xavier Stephens was named the River States Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Year at last week's RSC Indoor Championship and thus is also the RSC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 3-9.
Stephens, a senior from Uniontown, Pa., won four events and placed first in all four at the RSC championship. Included was winning the 800 and mile and anchoring winning relays in the 4x800 and the distance medley.
Stephen ran times of 2:01 in the 800 and 4:30 in the mile. In the DMR, his last leg pushed the Pioneers to second place as a team. He racked up 25 points in the meet.
Next up for the Pioners is at Kent State this weekend.
