Point Park's Campbell earns RSC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University sophomore Alyssa Campbell ran to River States Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year honors at Friday's RSC Indoor Championships and thus was voted as RSC Women' Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 3-9.
Campbell, from New Brighton, Pa., won both individual distance events on Friday with wins in the 5,000 and 3,000 meters. She also won a gold medal in a relay when she ran the 4x800 for first place.
She had times of 11:48 in the 3,000 meters and 18:43 in the 5,000 meters. The win in the 4x800 came with a time of 10:35, and she had 22.5 points scored on the day.
Point Park competes at Kent State this weekend.
