Hampton gets another RSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for No. 14 IU Kokomo
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Desean Hampton, a forward for No. 14-ranked IU Kokomo, averaged a strong double-double to earn River States Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 10-16.
The 6-5 junior from Speedway, Ind., picked up his second weekly honor of the year with 19.0 points and 17.5 rebounds per game in two wins. He shot 58 percent (15 for 26) from the field and also averaged 3.0 assists and 2.5 blocks per game.
He started out with 20 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and three assists in a win over Asbury (Ky.). That game featured 8 for 10 from the floor. Hampton finished off with 18 points, 21 rebounds and three assists in a victory at Alice Lloyd (Ky.).
IU Kokomo is 23-5, 12-2 RSC to lead the RSC West Division. The Cougars have a showdown with second-place IU Southeast on Tuesday with the division title on the line.
