Stephens races to RSC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week from Point Park (Pa.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Point Park (Pa.) University senior Xavier Stephens qualified for the NAIA Indoor National Championships in the mile on his way to River States Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 10-16.
Stephens, from Uniontown, Pa., earned his second conference weekly honor of the year by punching his national tickets. Stephens ran a time of 4:16.16 in the mile to meet the NAIA 'A' standard and finish fifth at the NCAA Division I event.
Stephens, the RSC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year as a four-time conference champion at the RSC meet, is ranked 15th nationally in the mile. Point Park will be at the Kent State Tune-Up on Feb. 22.
