Gibbs earns RSC Softball Pitcher of the Week from IU Southeast

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU Southeast freshman Brooklyn Gibbs went 3-0 with a save to earn the first River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week honor of the year. She had that performance from Feb. 10-16.

The Mt. Vernon, Ind., native posted a 1.21 ERA in four outings covering 17.1 innings. The Grenadiers won all four games to improve to 7-1 on the year. She struck out nine, walked 10 and gave up seven hits.

She got the win in 2.0 innings versus Georgetown and also got a save in her other relief appearance on the week, which was 2.0 innings versus Grace (Ind.). Gibbs got the win in 6.1 innings allowing just one hit versus Georgetown and in 7.0 innings giving up just three hits versus St. Francis (Ill.).

IU Southeast will host Calumet College of St. Joseph Feb. 21.
