Phillips collects RSC Softball Player of the Week from Asbury (Ky.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Asbury (Ky.) University senior Deana Phillips hit three home runs in a doubleheader to earn River States Conference Softball Player of the Week for Feb. 10-16.
A second baseman from Cross Plains, Tenn., Phillips was 4 for 7 with three homers in a doubleheader split versus Alice Lloyd, the only games of the week for the Eagles. All four hits went for extra bases as she added a double, five RBIs and three runs.
Phillips was 1 for 3 with a solo shot in a 2-1 loss to start the day. She then went 3 for 4 with two homers and double in a 19-6 win in the nightcap. Asbury is 1-3 on the year and will play Cumberlands and Grace on Feb. 21.
