Campbell picks up RSC Baseball Player of the Week from Asbury (Ky.)
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Asbury (Ky.) University sophomore Trevor Campbell hit 12 for 18 in four games to pick up the first River States Conference Baseball Player of the Week from Feb. 10-16.
Campbell, a shortstop from Louisville, Ky., batted .667 as the Eagles went 3-1 on the week. He hit safely in every game, had three multi-hit games and collected two doubles, two triples and five RBIs.
Campbell was 4 for 5 with a double, triple and three RBIs in a win over Georgetown (Ky.). In a series win over Bethel (Ind.), Campbell was 8 for 13 in the three games. That included 3 for 4 in the opener and then 2 for 4 and 3 for 5 in the two wins to end the series. The Eagles clinched the series with Campbell stroking a double and a triple in the third game, a 6-5 win.
Asbury is 5-2 and will play at Cumberlands (Ky.) on Tuesday.
