IU East's Mundy named RSC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- IU East sprinter Will Mundy qualified for nationals in the 400 meters on his way to River States Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb. 2.
A sophomore from Portland, Ore., Mundy ran the 400 meters in a time of 49.99 seconds to hit the NAIA B qualifying standard. That was good for second place at the IWU Midwest Classic. He also ran the 200 meters and won the event with a time of 22.58 seconds.
It was his first meet of the spring semester, and he now holds the top RSC time in the 400 and ranks second in the 200. IU East will be at the RSC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, Feb. 7 at Tiffin.
