Midway's Ludwig named RSC Softball Pitcher of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Midway (Ky.) University sophomore Madison Ludwig was 3-0 in 15.1 innings last week to earn River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week March 1-8.
A sophomore from Louisville, Ky., she pitched in three different games and had a 1.37 ERA during the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Midway won all three games with Ludwig racking up 18 strikeouts and just three earned runs allowed.
A big game was eight strikeouts in a complete game of 7.0 innings versus Piedmont International, a 6-1 win. She got the win in relief with five strikeouts in 3.1 innings of a 13-9 victory over Rivier (N.H.). She capped off the week with five strikeouts and no earned runs allowed in 5.0 innings of a 7-2 victory over Shawnee State (Ohio).
