Rio Grande's Slutz picked for RSC Softball Player of the Week
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- University of Rio Grande catcher Kayla Slutz hit .833 in two games to earn River States Conference Softball Player of the Week for March 1-8.
The junior from Navarre, Ohio, hit a combined 5 for 6 in the only two games of the week. That came in a split doubleheader versus Ferrum (Va.) and Waynesburg (Pa.). Slutz knocked in six runs and scored a run.
She was a perfect 3 for 3 with three RBIs and a run in a 9-1 win over Ferrum. Slutz went 2 for 3 with three more RBIs in an 11-3 victory over Waynesburg.
