NAIA DII WBB National Championship featuring 2 RSC teams begins March 11

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The 2020 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship gets started on Wednesday, March 11 featuring two River States Conference teams in the bracket. The 32-team national tournament is taking place at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

WVU Tech (24-7, 16-0 RSC) leads the RSC qualifiers into the national tournament as the No. 23-ranked team in the final Top 25 Poll. The Golden Bears earned a No. 6 seed and take on No. 3 seed Morningside (Iowa) (23-9) in the first round on Wednesday, March 11 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Morningside is ranked No. 10 in the final Top 25 Poll and earned an at-large berth.

Ohio Christian University (21-11, 8-8 RSC) enters the national tournament coming off its RSC Championship title. The Trailblazers garnered a No. 8 seed and face No. 1 seed Southeastern (Fla.) (26-3) on Thursday, March 12 at 11:15 a.m. CT. The Fire, the regular-season champion of The Sun Conference, are the No. 3 overall seed in the bracket and the No. 3 team in the nation.

WVU Tech is making its second appearance all-time in the national tournament and its second in a row. Ohio Christian is making its national championship debut as a first-time qualifier. The tournament continues throught March 17 with the first round covering two days.
